In anticipation for Natalia's forthcoming music, to be released this year, she recently shot three music videos. Two of three titles have been confirmed - The Knux's song "1974" with Kills from the band's latest album "Eraser" will get its own video visual and DJ Tatiana's song with Kills, "You Can't Get In My Head (If You Don't Get In My Bed)", too. Natalia published some pictures on her FaceBook showing herself behind the scenes of "You Can't Get In My Head (If You Don't Get In My Bed)" with model/actor/musician Leebo Freeman.
Ms. Kills gave an interview for Fashion.Elle.com where she talks about her "Kill My Boyfriend" music video outfits, the look she's going for and about the shooting itself.
Though the plot of Natalia Kills’ new single, “Kill My Boyfriend,” is a bit morbid, a taste for murder hasn’t weakened the British pop singer’s love of fashion. In the music video for the track (after the jump), Kills runs around Paris looking drop dead gorgeous in Stella McCartney, Yves Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Alexander Wang, Karen Walker and Jeremy Scott—among others. It’s by far the most fashion-savvy music video of 2012—and is made all the more impressive considering that Kills styled the entire video herself. ELLE.com spoke with the singer to find out which pieces she kept for herself and why she picked up a few new curse words in French.
British pop siren Natalia Kills only released her chart-topping debut album, Perfectionist earlier this year, but she's hardly a musical neophyte. In 2005, the singer-songwriter released a rap single, 'Don't Play Nice,' under the moniker Verbalicious. Since then, she's adopted a new stage name (big improvement) and dropped the baggy jeans, embracing a darker, edgier style that she says is inspired by Daphne Guinness and surrealism.
The marriage between fashion and music never ceases to capture our hearts. We love how inspiring music can be to a designer and let's be honest, a runway show is nothing without a great playlist. With that said, we fell hard for our latest girl crush, Natalia Kills, in her recent video, Kill My Boyfriend.
Okay, so the message in the song is a little morbid – even if we've had moments when our boyfriends make us want to pull our hair out – but the dark lyrics are totally balanced by how sick the styling is. Not only are we obsessed with the neo-1960s makeup, but also the clothes are pretty unbelievable.
With the over-the-top nu-mod look, she jumps off the screen and into our thudding hearts. It's hard to pick a favorite, but she looks totally stunning in the kitchen scene in the 1950s inspired body-con dress. Her curves look to-die, don't you think? Check our the video below and tell us what your favorite look is – there's plenty to pick from!
